Hi friend,
We had an excellent start to the year, with January bringing our highest traffic, second highest value of bookings, and some major steps forward on the software.
Key updates:
- Software Feedback:
- “Exactly what we need” - Sarah, Independent Location Agency who regularly works with Netflix & Amazon
- “So comprehensive and useful” - Cimeon, Director of a brand new arts venue in London
- “I love how simple and clear it is” - Sara, Venue hire manager of one of the largest dance studios in London
- We've been showing the software to potential clients, and have received a resounding “hell yes” from all sorts of companies including venues run by 1 or 2 people, all the way through to a 100 person entertainment agency.
- Tech progress:
- Tutti Pay was held up by one integration we've had to put on hold, but now we're adding our finishing touches (for the time being)
- Next: Sockets, which will mean that users no longer have to refresh pages to see new messages, or updated statuses, etc. This will make the Tutti experience much more slick, and will be vital for the collaboration tools in our software.
- SEO + activity:
- Our average 10% MoM growth of traffic has continued through to Jan (minus the expected dip in Dec)
- We've been smashing SEO records (according to Google) left, right, and centre thanks to Jules & Ed's strategy and implementation.
- We've increased our average ranking from 33 to 21 since August (low is good), with almost 200 pages in top 5 results for their keywords
- We crossed the threshold of 8000 visitors a month, with roughly 450 listings viewed per day. 94% of that can be attributed to SEO
- More external coverage:
- Listings:
- Raise close:
- EIS paperwork has been submitted. HMRC replied to Seedrs unusually quickly, so Seedrs investors have already received certificates (check your Seedrs account). We're just waiting on HMRC to reply for direct/Odin investors.
- We had a brilliant first investor meetup. We will have 2 or 3 of these a year so you can get a chance to see one of our amazing spaces, meet some of the team, and meet other investors. Next one will be in the summer.
Asks
- Do you know any creative venues - video/photo/music/dance studios, recording studios, music venues, theatres, etc in the UK?
- Please send our website or my contact details their way, and make an intro if relevant:
- [email protected]
- Quick sell: We are “Airbnb for creative space” - it's free to list and we help their venue get found and booked for any creative use.
One of PizzaExpress Live's venues on Dean Street, in Soho. It's been running since 1976!
Follow ups to what we mentioned last time (lows or highs):
- Low: The alternative to Stripe was trickier to implement than we had expected because of our rather complex payment back end (allowing for flexibility for our users), so we’ve paused that for now, but we’ll revisit in the future when optimising commissions make sense.
